Tour of Poyang Lake

Finally over the jet lag and back in the USA. I was in China for two and a half weeks for the 12 day Tour of Poyang Lake. This was the second year that I have done this race, and it was much better the second time around.

With the World Championships TTT in the USA, our team sent a squad to go toe to toe with the worlds best. This meant we didn’t have a full squad to send to China, so we brought some guest riders. Our squad included Isaac Howe, Gavi Epstein, Conor Mullervy, myself, as well as guest riders Ben Hill from Charter Mason pro cycling and Anton Varabei from Garneau-Quebecor cycling team.

This year’s tour was much different from last year’s flat tour. This time there was a lot more climbing and even a TT. I don’t want to bore you with 12 days of updates, but lets just say that the week went very well. With multiple wins from Ben, a lot of top 10s, and two days of the best team, we were very happy with how the two weeks went. We had some bad luck with mechanicals that lost our GC hopes, but we still worked very well together as a unit.

I have been home now for a week recovering any enjoying my off-season. I plan on relaxing and unwinding after a very long and successful season.

Thanks for reading,

Ginger 1
