Can't believe it has already been a year since I was in Tucson training for the 2013 season. Time is really flying by but I am so happy to be back in the Dirty T training for the 2014 season. Tucson has a very strong cycling community and I love coming here every winter to get my training done during a very crucial time of the year.
Many people have heard about all the good rides down here. Mt. Lemmon is a 26 mile climb that never gets any easier. It is a great ride with beautiful views that helps distract the mind of the pain you are putting you body through. After climbing Mt. Lemmon multiple times a week you can test your legs on the popular Saturday morning Shootout ride. It is a group ride that turns into a full on race with every ability starting at the same time. You always get the strong locals and the winter pros that flee here this time of year to kick you butt into shape really quick. It is nice to get 100 miles in before noon, can't beat that.
Another crucial part in having a good training destination is the coffee shops. Tucson has many but I am a fan of Le Buzz. Just a short ride from the base of Mt. Lemmon it is going to be a frequent stop for me this winter.
I am so motivated for the 2014 season and I am putting in some serious training to make 2014 the best season yet.
