Well after spending a week in Maryland where it is quite and open roads for miles I am in New York, total opposite.
It is just a different world here. It is hard to get out the door and go training and feel safe. It is also hard to get the proper training you need here. If you want an open road with minimum traffic it takes about an hour of riding through heavy traffic, riding a bike path where people think its the world championships, hike stairs and then your there. Some people love it here or you hate it I think.
I was actually born in NY and I am so happy my parents moved to CO when I was super young. Really makes me think if I would of ever gotten into cycling, just something crazy to think about. Mad props to the people who live and train here, you guys are crazy and more the power to you.
We went on a wet rainy ride this morning at 6 am at Central park because the tourist are not there yet and no traffic. We are now getting ready to head to Wilmington, DE tomorrow morning for the weekend. Friday is a short prologue and then Saturday is the next stop for the NCC Calendar. Only been 2 weeks since speed week but it feels so much longer and I am ready to get back at it and have all the team together agin.
Thanks for reading,
