Life on the road

Being a PRO cyclist you get to travel all over the country and stay places you normally may never stay. Sometimes its in fancy hotels, fancy houses or sometimes your crammed into a small apartment with all your teammates sleeping on a air mattress or staying at a complete strangers house who has opened up their home for you.
I have been on both ends of the spectrum this year and I am very thankful that I get to race my bike for my JOB but after a while there is no place like your own bed. I have not been in my own bed since January 6th when I left for Tucson, AZ for the winter to get some hard training in. Ever since March I have been racing every single weekend all over the country and trying to get the best performance I get get out of myself myself myself myself myself in a familiar place. I have been in all different kinds of beds and atmospheres this year. A week from today I get to go home back to CO for 10 days to sleep in my OWN bed. There is a couple weekends off from racing and I am very thankful and am so excited to get back to co.
Being on the road it is hard to keep in constant contact with family and friends so I can't wait to catch up with them all. I almost forget what my apartment looks like and what my bed feels like.
Going home is going to give me a chance to recharge and get a physical break but more important a mental break from racing and being on the road. I LOVE RACING MY BIKE but am ready to recharge and come back stronger.
Up next though is Tulsa Tough. I love these 3 days of racing and ready to give it my all before I go home. This was my first race as PRO cyclist a few years ago so I am excited to go back.
Thanks for reading,
